  • Torque: At the base level, the Silverado 1500 generates more torque than the RAM 1500. Equipped with its 4.3L EcoTec3 engine, the Chevy generates 305 lb-ft of torque, while the RAM offers 269 lb-ft with its 3.6L Pentastar®.
  • Transmission: The Silverado 1500 gets a standard 6-speed automatic transmission, which can be switched out for an 8-speed automatic on higher trims. The RAM 1500 base trim gets an 8-speed transmission.
  • Trailering Capacity: The RAM 1500 has a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds, while the Silverado 1500 maximum towing capacity is 13,300 pounds with the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine.
