How to Program Chevy HomeLink®

Wondering about HomeLink® programming? If you’re ready to connect your Chevy to your garage door opener, you need to program the system to recognize your vehicle. So, what is HomeLink® programming? It’s simple! All you need to do is park your car in the driveway and follow these steps:

  1. Find the HomeLink® unit above the center console, close to the rearview mirror.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold the first and third buttons on the HomeLink® unit until the interior lights start flashing, which may take up to 20 seconds.
  3. While pressing the open/close button on the garage door opener, press and hold the HomeLink® unit button you wish to program. Hold both until the interior lights switch from slow to rapid flashing.
  4. The HomeLink® button is now linked to your garage door opener!
  5. To save your settings, exit the vehicle and press the “learn” button on your garage door opener. Now return to the vehicle and press the newly programmed HomeLink® button for at least two seconds. If the garage door opener lights flash, that HomeLink® has been successfully linked to your garage door opener.
